Abstract

The study examines the dynamics of issued building permits in Sofia (2010–2024) as a measure of investment activity. Through dynamic, structural, and correlation analysis, the key trends in the construction sector and its relationship with economic growth are identified. The results indicate a sustained increase in construction activity and a strong positive correlation with GDP (r = 0.80), which positions building permits as a reliable indicator of the investment environment and a useful tool for forecasting future economic trends.
